One of Butte’s most recognizable landmarks could soon become more accessible than ever.
The Lady of the Rockies Foundation is working to bring a gondola to the mountain, creating a new way for visitors to experience the 90-foot-tall statue that has watched over our community for nearly four decades. Since its dedication in 1985, the Lady has become a symbol of hope, compassion, and the resilience that defines Butte.
The proposed gondola would make the journey to the Lady easier for people of all ages and abilities while creating a memorable experience that showcases the beauty of the Continental Divide and the rich history of our mining community. Beyond improving access, the project has the potential to strengthen tourism, support local businesses, and introduce even more visitors to everything Butte has to offer.
